Risk Disclosure

Last updated: 17 August 2026

Read before use Trading leveraged financial instruments carries a high risk of loss and is not suitable for everyone. Losses can exceed expectations, up to and including the entire account balance. Do not trade with money that cannot be lost in full.

1. Scope

This statement applies to all software supplied by Dark Data Technologies (registration number 2026/624802/07), including Aeterna Strategy Engine, and to all information published on this website. It is a general warning and takes no account of any individual’s circumstances, objectives or financial position.

2. Nature of the risk

  • Leverage magnifies losses. Margin trading means a small adverse move can produce a loss far greater than the initial outlay, and can exhaust an account.
  • Markets are volatile and can gap. Prices may move sharply between ticks, over weekends, or around news events. Stop-loss orders are not guaranteed to execute at the requested level.
  • Losses can exceed deposits with some brokers and account types, leaving a negative balance liability.
  • Liquidity can disappear. In stressed conditions spreads widen and orders may fill at materially worse prices, or not at all.

3. Risks specific to automated trading

  • An Expert Advisor executes rules; it does not exercise judgement. It will continue to follow its logic in market conditions its designer did not anticipate.
  • Technical failure. Power loss, internet outage, VPS failure, platform crash, broker server downtime or terminal misconfiguration can prevent orders from being placed, modified or closed.
  • Broker dependence. Spread, commission, swap, execution model, slippage, symbol naming, tick data quality and stop-level rules differ between brokers and materially affect results.
  • Parameter sensitivity. Changing inputs changes behaviour and risk. Settings suited to one instrument, timeframe or market regime may perform very differently in another.
  • Unattended operation remains the user’s responsibility. Automation does not transfer responsibility for an account away from its holder. Open positions and account exposure should be monitored.

4. Past and simulated performance

Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results. Any historical result, chart, statistic or backtest — whether published by Dark Data Technologies, on an MQL5 Market listing, or elsewhere — describes what happened under specific past conditions and assumptions. It is not a forecast and carries no guarantee.

Backtested and simulated results carry additional, well-known limitations: they are produced with the benefit of hindsight, may be affected by data quality and modelling assumptions, generally cannot fully reproduce real slippage, latency, requotes, variable spread or partial fills, and may reflect parameters selected because they performed well on that specific historical sample. Live results routinely differ from simulated results.

5. No advice and no guarantee

Dark Data Technologies supplies software only. It provides no financial, investment, trading, tax or legal advice, and nothing it publishes should be taken as a recommendation to enter into any transaction. No representation or guarantee is made as to profitability, win rate, drawdown, or any other outcome.

The Company does not receive, hold or control client funds, and has no access to or control over any trading account.

6. Before trading live

  • Run the software on a demo account for a meaningful period first.
  • Understand every input parameter and set risk conservatively.
  • Confirm the software behaves as expected with the intended broker and account type.
  • Size positions so that a sustained losing sequence would not be financially damaging.
  • Seek independent professional advice where suitability is uncertain.

7. Jurisdiction

The availability of this software constitutes no offer in any jurisdiction where such an offer would be unlawful. Ensuring that use of automated trading software, and trading activity generally, complies with applicable local law is the user’s responsibility.
