Privacy Policy

1. Responsible party
Dark Data Technologies (registration number 2026/624802/07), a private company registered in the Republic of South Africa (the “Company”), is the responsible party for the processing described in this policy, as that term is used in the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (“POPIA”).

2. Approach
The Company collects as little personal information as possible. Personal information is not sold. This website runs no advertising trackers and builds no behavioural profiles of visitors.
The software does not transmit trading data to the Company. Expert Advisors licensed from the Company run locally in the user’s MetaTrader terminal. Account numbers, balances, positions, credentials and trade history are never received by the Company.

Information is not knowingly collected from anyone under 18, and the software is not offered to minors.
4. Purchases through the MQL5 Market
Software is sold through the MQL5 Market, operated by MetaQuotes Ltd., not through this website. Account and payment details for those purchases are processed by MetaQuotes under their privacy policy. The Company does not receive payment card details or full billing information, and may receive only limited purchase and licence data for support and licensing purposes.
5. Legal basis
Personal information is processed where consent has been given (for example, by sending an email), where processing is necessary to perform a contract such as supporting a licensed product, where it is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, or where it serves the Company’s legitimate interests in operating and securing the service — balanced against the data subject’s rights.
6. Sharing
Personal information is shared only:
- with service providers who host or operate the Company’s infrastructure, under confidentiality obligations;
- where required by law, court order, or lawful request from a public authority;
- where necessary to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim;
- with the data subject’s consent.
This website is hosted on Cloudflare infrastructure. Hosting and email delivery may involve processing outside South Africa. Where personal information is transferred across borders, reasonable steps are taken to ensure a comparable level of protection as required by section 72 of POPIA.
7. Retention
Correspondence is kept for as long as needed to provide support and maintain an accurate business record — generally no longer than five years from the last interaction — unless a longer period is required by law. Technical logs are retained for a short period consistent with the hosting provider’s defaults.
8. Security
The site is served exclusively over HTTPS. Reasonable technical and organisational measures are applied to protect personal information against loss, unauthorised access and unlawful processing. No system is perfectly secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed. Where a breach occurs that poses a risk to the rights of data subjects, notification will be made to those affected and to the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.
9. Data subject rights
Under POPIA a data subject may:
- request access to the personal information held about them;
- request correction or deletion of information that is inaccurate, irrelevant, excessive, out of date or unlawfully obtained;
- object to processing on reasonable grounds;
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
- lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator.
Requests should be sent to darkdata.support@gmail.com and will receive a response within a reasonable period. Verification of identity may be required first.

10. Cookies
This website sets no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. The hosting provider may set strictly necessary cookies for security and performance. Blocking cookies in the browser does not restrict access to any content here.

This policy may be updated. The current version is always published at this address, with the revision date shown above.
